They will still make money off you for extra "negotiations." Nothing is free (I know you know that). Like predator tube steps, costs what, ~$600? Dealer "deals" are ~$400. Find them here on TW an hour off a new truck for ~$300. "At Cost" I can only assume maybe ~$120 or less.

A couple years ago I earned the dubious distinction of being my Jeep dealer’s best parts customer. The manager took me out to lunch.

I still don’t know if I was flattered or insulted...

    Definitely!

My Taco did come with the rubber mats and sill protectors. I asked to get the mats swapped for the carpeted ones since I drive barefoot most of the time. They said no because they came on the build sheet. They worked well in the winters and barefoot, so whatever.

The only thing they pushed was gap insurance. After shopping 10yr old 2nd Gens, the both of us laughed heartily.

Still, it was a good deal that I will look back on happily 15yrs from now. Less so about the Ural that it replaced. Hahaha! Good times when it was functional though.

I got mud guards and all season floor mats included for free. I also got a lift, predator steps, blacked out emblems, and the TRD wheels and KO2 tires that I did pay for, and they dropped significantly below the MSRP price so I did not pay much more at all than what I was expecting for stock.

I received nothing for free when I purchased my 2016. And that was exactly what I was expecting.

So update went to get the truck. It was missing the bed mat and the door guards as well that were on the buyer sheet of the truck they were supposed to get for me. So argued again with the GM and nothing. Decided to write to the VP and owner and explained the whole thing. The VP called me and ordered all the parts plus the badges for free for my hassle. They'll be here tomorrow.

Make sure you leave them the appropriate review when Toyota sends their survey.
