So I recently finished my drawer/sleeping platform for my truck and have been using it pretty much every weekend. One thing I really hate now is having to put my knees on the stock tailgate panel to climb into the camper shell. The ribs on it are very painful on the knees and I'm sure others have noticed this issue. I've been looking at alternatives online and was completely blown away at how much some of them cost. For something as simple as it is, I didn't expect some of them to be $200+.

With that being said, I started looking into modeling one myself and machining it. Like all good projects, I felt it was necessary for me to document this and share with you all.

Below is my first iteration of the part. I'm currently working on the CAM for it and researching what materials I can use. From a cost standpoint, it makes the most sense to get a full sheet for this which means I might be able to make multiple if anyone's interested.

**Disclaimer: I did get inspiration from other products on the market so this shall follow a similar design. Obviously there aren't too may ways to deviate from whats already out there.**

Did you ever go through with this? I'm looking for something similar and would def. be interested in purchasing one if you made enough to warrant cost of a full sheet.

I made 3 of them at the time and have already sold them since then. Unfortunately, I don't have a router table anymore so this deal has passed. Sorry about that.
