Ah good to know. I do think it was touched by a stick or shin, as the puck fluttered different. But I guess it didn't matter. tough call.

I don’t know which of the above comments to reply to first. The fact that only a Leafs fan calls the playoffs the offseason or that the officiating is horrid. Calls get missed. It happens. Put your big boy pants on and move on.

Honestly all of the officiating comments make me wonder if your team ever got a good bounce in a game. Calls get missed. Sometimes it affects the score and sometimes that goal or non goal could have turned the game around. It happens. Refs are human and just like your goalies losing track of a puck so do the officials.

I haven’t seen every game in the playoffs. I have seen some missed and some bad calls. But I still don’t see this year as any better or any worse than any other playoffs. Take your bounces when they come and be ready to take your lumps when you get them.

Cry like babies if that’s the person you strive to be but in my books shit happens.

I agree, for the most part. But it is still worth talking about. It is obviously going to be a topic when a call is a big influence in a game. That being said, I agree with you, as a whole. Even last night. The Perron clear over the glass. Should've been a penalty on St.L. And then the hit to the head which was a non-call. I felt that hit was as bad as McAvoy's hit in the Columbus series. So it's not like St.L got completely shafted. It's also funny that Colorado fans in the thread are the most vocal about the refs and that situation was probably the 1 I fault officiating the least. Tag up or get off the ice. No excuses.

    Wah.

Dude I was explaining the rule. Calm down. Your Bruins are going to get their cup in a few weeks and then you can disappear from here again for another year.

Of course the Bruins fan sees nothing wrong with the officiating this year, game 2 in the Carolina-Boston series was almost comical. You’re right though that the officials are only part of the equation. Good teams playing their game don’t need the calls to go their way to win. That being said the NHL is supposed to be a professional league, and the lack of consistency against the rule book and game to game isn’t good for the league. When you’re the 4th sport in most peoples mind it doesn’t help if the games rules are not consistently enforced.

As a Bruins fan..... yet more crying like a bitch from a sore loser Leaf fan.

We have had good and bad bounces and officiating. They call back a goal we get another. We get soundly beat by a great performance by our opponents and we find a way to get the W next game. Cup winning teams keep at it game in and game out. They take their lumps, penalties, suspensions, goals called back and whatever adversity they are thrown and they persevere.

I don’t know what you expect from the Bruins. Should we call Gary Bettman and request he give a win to the opposition because his refs missed a call or didn’t give us enough penalties? Maybe make a special participation Cup just for the Leafs?

For the record I have seen a few times when our guys needed to settle down or else we were going to get called and potentially give up a game winning goal short handed. I am sure anyone level headed can see those things in their team at some point. I accepted the McAvoy suspension. It wasn’t as bad as other hits but by the letter of the rules he was guilty. Take your lumps. We got goals called back and others we wanted called back were allowed. Regroup and press on. McAvoy called it best after the win the other night. Hit reset 0-0 and treat every game like the first. Good advice for the Blues after earning a W but getting a L last night.

Settle down wall of text, I think the Bruins will win because they are the best team remaining and play a great playoff game. No crying here, Toronto was not the better team in the Boston series and your team won. I’ve said nothing to the contrary. TO sucked especially in the games that mattered at the end and that’s all I’ll say about that.

That all being said and getting back to the conversation at hand, it’s hard not to laugh when someone gets high sticked in the face and then ends in the box for it, I’m sure even you WTF’d on that play. Game 2 for the Bruins against Carolina had some funny calls for the Bruins but no one is suggesting a conspiracy or favourite, or at least I’m not, just bad officiating overall. As for the game last night, as someone who teaches teenage linesmen where to position themselves to catch calls that should be theirs like a hand pass, seeing it completely botched at the pro level is just incompetence.

I don't get how 4 people missed the hand pass in the slot where the puck was.... That's just ungood.

I love the zoomed in screen shot of the blues sock.... showing it, might have possibly, nic'd his sock fiber.

Brotato, how do you sleep at night? If the shoe was on the other foot you'd be losing your mind. You know that was a hand pass and should have been blown dead.

They are human, they don't get slow mo replays like we do at home. Sure, missed calls happen that's the game but the reffing has been pretty shitacular this year.

I think is a conspiracy, possibly aliens....

He doesn’t sleep at night. He writes small essays to all the people who wronged his sensibilities the day before and then goes to hand deliver them before first light.

As an Avs fan... at this point, if this is what it takes for SJ to win games... so be it... as long as it helps them beat the Bruins in the finals.

@Sterdog it is hard to have a conversation with you when in every single one of your posts you have to make a personal dig. Really too bad because once you get past the childishness you made some very good points.

To be fair I did shake my head at Marchand with the crap on Williams. I would have put it 100% on Marchy except Williams showed he has a lack of control as well with what he was doing the next game. We also have Krug who loses composure too often. Expected really when you are getting hammered by guys with 20-40lbs on you each and every shift.

Anyway we have a good group as a whole and lots of depth. Compared to the Leafs who have lots of talent they have no ability to grind a game out round after round in the playoffs. Talent is #2 in my books in the playoffs. Grinding out a win is #1. Every team still in it can grind, hit, punish and wear you down. Maybe Dubas needs some grinders for next year.

Dude I've been staying out of the personal digs and you've continued using them, get off your high horse. I have zero issue with you. I don't like the Bruins, and that's not a bad thing. I enjoy hockey talk and I have a passion for it, especially for the Leafs, but that doesn't make me blind to analyzing the game itself. The Bruins earned their current position, and if you go back a couple of months you'll see I did mention that whoever comes out of the Atlantic bracket will win everything. I still believe that.
God I hope not. Really Grinding is another way of saying you need mental and physical toughness in the games that matter. I think that comes with experience. Yes changes are needed on the Leafs but I'm thinking more fine tuning than blowing things up. The new core is young and at least they didn't disappear as bad as Calgary's young guns did. I hope Dubas isn't stupid enough to do what the last team that tried to replicate the Bruins did. The Oilers suck and will suck for a long time with their "grinder" paperweights on the roster.
