Lol I've lived in NC for 12 years. Never seen hail before, not once.

I feel for you. 1.5 years ago we had the hailstorm from hell in Omaha--hit my 3-month old WRX and my fiancee's Fiat 500L, also damaged the roof. These were baseball sized hail stones, no joking. It destroyed my back window in the WRX and dented every surface til it looked like a moonscape. My fiancee's car came out better because it was parked under a tree.

Insurance took care of things, and everything was fixed very well, though it took a long time. Total damage: $21,000 to my WRX, $10,000 to the Fiat, $25,000 roof and gutter replacement. EVERY house on our block (houses built in the 20's-30's) got a new roof. Any cars outside were dented like crazy.

Even though everything was covered, it was a big hassle. Had to wait 2 months for repair work to begin on the car (other than new window), then it took 2 months (a comedy of errors on their part--wrong parts ordered, backlogs, etc.).

It bugged me so much I seriously looked at moving elsewhere--first question was, when was your last hailstorm?

I've made my peace with it but respect the hail. Our one-car garage houses my '18 MX-5, and if there's a hint of hail I'm taking my truck to work to a sheltered parking ramp.

    Dang it, Mother Nature!

Call your home insurance for a roof inspection for sure after that. New roof likely.

That was the only good thing--we needed a new roof LOL! Also new gutters...

Interestingly with the large hail not too much vegetation was damaged--some limbs and leaves of course--but nothing like the small machine-gun-like hail we got a couple of years before this one--ruined all the bushes and hostas. My fiancee was p/o'ed about that one for sure!
