Thanks...but the bigger question is: Why didn't you participate in the trip? :notsure:
    It was a blast.

Mammoth area has gotten so much snow this winter its ridiculous, they are actually planning on keeping the ski lifts open through July. That being said, if this trip is planned again for this summer it might be better to wait until August...if there's snow on the Laurel Lakes trail it becomes pretty much impassable.

This was taken on the 395 North passing through Mammoth on our way up to Tahoe a few weeks ago...the 395 was like this from a little after Bishop all the way up to the Tahoe area, about 200+ miles of 4wd highway driving lol. 51511127_941507894858_8098922802461016064_o.jpg51593854_941507949748_5203519455115608064_o.jpg51499457_941507924798_5436022235464728576_o.jpg

I’ve never been to Mammoth even though driven by numerous times. Thanks for posting trails around here, will definitely plan to run some of these by June or July.

I was going to! I actually joined Tacomaworld a few days prior to the trip..
AND oddly enough - I was driving to Tahoe the same day you guys went on the trip, so I passed you guys and was really considering it. But by the time I got close to Mammoth, it was midnight and I figured it would be hard to try and find you guys. Ended up throwing a sleeping bag in my trunk and camping on Hot Creek! Still awesome.

I'll participate next time for usre

There is another shooting spot near the June lake entrance. one for handgun and the other for rifle. I cant remember off the top of my head the exact spot. There is a sheriff that rides a dirt bike and he is not in uniform. If you are not doing anything stupid you will be just fine.

I've wanted to learn how to fly fish ever since I saw some dudes doing it in Yellowstone. Probably better to learn in ORV instead of the mosquito swarm they were standing in lol

I went to Mammoth for Cinco de Mayo. All the snow by the hot springs is melted and gone so I think all shaded areas will be cleared by july

That'd be cool, but Mammoth is like my new backyard, which means I don't have to take time off work. So I'm totally interested in learning a couple cool tracks out there.

Actually, I'm just giving our trail leader (Brian) a hard time since he moved up to Idaho recently. I like road trips and maybe one day can drive up there and see some of that beautiful country.
He organized a great trip last year. We had a blast in Mammoth and I'd love to do it again if we could coordinate a weekend.

Lets do it! I'll just have to take a Thursday Friday off for a long weekend.
