Nice. Yeah I nymphed most of the day including using Pats, PT's and tried worms for awhile before finally seeing some fish coming up after about 2 and tried dries for a bit. Thanks for the feedback.

I got a 14” on a pats stone on Saturday in the lower canyon.

 

I'm in Vancouver, WA and would love to go out and meet-up with some who is in the Columbia inlet area if you wouldn't mike teaching a novice a few things. Happy to bring some food/spirits and share gas money.

 

I'm going to miss the spring kings this year. I like fishing the area where the Lewis River flows into the Columbia .River in Woodland, WA. Hopefully we have a season on the summer runs and you can join in on the fun .I'm hoping to get out and fish here real soon. Work keeps messing with my fishing schedule

 

Anyone fished Potholes reservoir? Im planning on heading up there with the family (husband and two young kids) Mother’s Day weekend and would love any tips. The plan is to find a spot on the northeast side to camp on our own, rather than stay in the campground. As far as fishing goes, we fly fish and throw lures, Senkos, etc... whatever gets the job done. We don’t have a motorized boat but have an inflatable kayak (a good one, not a Walmart special).

 

I wish I could help you with this question but I have never been there myself. I've heard this is the spot for catching walleyes though. Have a great trip and post some pics of your catch. Tight lines!

 

I have heard that, too. I grew up in California so I know nothing about walleye fishing. I’m hoping to catch plenty of bass, though. I will try to remember to post pics.

 

I haven’t been for many years, but I remember just catching bass off the dock at Mardon Resort

 

Got a chance to get the boat out today for a few hours. I fished Lake Stevens for some koks. The bite was on for about an hour and I was able to catch 5 koks and 1 bow. It was slow today but still a lot of fun. May is a prime month to catch them there. They are awesome eating fish and I hope to catch a few more on my next trip

Hey buddy I’m up in the panhandle. I’m down to cruise down and fly fish sometime. I’ve never fished down in g-Ville area but I hear the steelhead fishing is nuts there!

 

My husband was convinced that I couldn’t fit everything our family of four needs for a weekend camping trip in the Tacoma without a topper/camper shell, but I proved him wrong today! There’s even room to spare (I have a long bed). Originally, we were planning on trying out Potholes Reservoir this weekend, but then my husband found a boat for sale over near Portland that we want to buy so we are going to pick that up and then camp at Battle Ground Lake, near Vancouver. We are bringing our inflatable kayak since motorized boats aren’t allowed there, and the launch ramp is closed, anyway. Then we might try for some bass along the Columbia on our way home on Sunday. If anyone has any recommendations for a good shore fishing stop along the WA side of the gorge, let me know!

 

Awesome scenery. Location? I bought a fly rod last year but never got out to try it out. Would love to this summer.

 

Omak Lake. Made the trek out again this past weekend.

 

don't get out much unless I'm backpacking. Need to change that. Love fishing the high alpine lakes!

 

I'm adding that to the list for this summer. Gotta get as many trips in as possible. Wife is having another baby the end of summer.

 

creek season opener on Saturday! If anyone is up for some exploring on Saturday, let me know. Fly angler's only or I guess if you are a gear guy/ gal with very light drift gear that would work.
