Well I just bought my first RC truck. It was a custom build from my local hobby shop. I have a lot to learn about it still but I thought I’d see if there were any scalers in the area.

Nice Toyota RC. I have been into the RC scale and RC racing hobby for a looonnngggg time. Used to be hard core into the scale scene but now I have my collection down to just one rig. Its a custom Traxxas Summit I have built up over the years. Changed it into more of a scale rock racer at this point. Just like the full size its a lot of fun but you can chase the rabbit down the money hole quick if your not careful. But it is a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Yeah its a lot of fun. Has a Dewalt drill motor installed, front and rear selectable lockers, etc....I could go on and on. Put a lot of money and time into it but that is part of the hobby and part of the fun.

Any idea where I might be able to source a threaded body spacer?

Since it looks like you are in Sacramento, I would try RC Country Hobby over on Folsom Blvd by CSUS. they have a huge parts section for scale rigs and RC cars in general.

My cheap rc trucks from Walmart are broke because I did some things the instructions said not to! I really want a 4x4 waterproof rc truck. My mom says that would be a waste of money, but I don't care! Here's one of my broken ones. I can't get rid of it because I've had so much fun with it! It looks great with all my other trucks, which are mostly diecast.IMG_7675.jpg

Yeah that where I actually bought this truck from. I’ll have to swing back in there at some point. I’ve got it back in working order for now. Are you from the area?

Yeah its a great place as you know....biggest hobby store I have ever been in. Yeah I am in Sacramento. I didn't know RC Country is selling custom built rigs now....is that a line of cars they offer now? That's very cool.

I have been looking for a Tacoma body (preferably 3rd gen as that is what I own) for some time now that is big enough to fit my Summit, but I haven't had any luck. I like the Honcho body but it is too small scale wise to fit on the Summit. If anyone knows of a 3rd gen style Tacoma body out there for larger trucks I would love info on it.

Yeah they have a few custom built rigs in the showcase. While I was there they mentioned an event happening up at folsom lake this weekend if you want to check it out. I think I’ll be going
