Just got my Stage II installed. One day after completion, the fronts started to squeak pretty bad - any movement would cause it. I read some comments online that lubing the shafts is a good first step. I did rub some good quality bicycle chain lube (ProLink) on the shafts and that took care of it. However, I'm concerned if this will be an ongoing problem/maintenance item that I'll have to stay on top of?

Washed the truck and the squeaks returned. Looks like I'll have to lube my shafts after every wash - this sucks! Can't get a reply from Icon here or via their email.

Hit the carwash again and it seems the need for lube is starting to subside. No squeaks right afterward, but I hit them again with some lube with the intent to help the seals break-in further. Icon did eventually let me know via email that these can squeak when new, but no real advice on how to avoid the problem besides lube. Would be nice if they would document a break-in procedure or at least what to expect with new shocks. Seems they are still a no-show on TW.

What are you lubing exactly? The shock shaft? I don't think I've heard of a shaft making squeaks. 99% of the time it's the rear leafs or a uniball in your UCAs - but you don't have uniball uppers. Some videos would help.

Yes, the shaft and seal. That is the source

I have had the same issue on multiple icons. Sometimes flexing them out on a rutted dirt road takes care of the squeek, other times i lube the shaft. Habent seen the squeek lead to any leaks or issues.

New to the site but a long time Tacoma lover. After the install and up to this time, are you happy with the stage II? I am looking at doing a similar route with my 2018.
