Okay, I retract my statement. That will be pretty darn cool. How long will you get to be there? A full month or more?

I ain’t cheap or in college! I’ve got a $24 a day habit! That doesn’t include truck mods or truck mod break downs!

Aka I’m an asshole and I keep it real and the economy rolling!

Well, I ordered a 5.25” tall tailgate TOYOTA (in white) from James Dean Creations, based on advise from here. I hope it’s worth the $45 vs. 15-25 ones from Ebay.
I did buy a TACOMA side emblem from Ebay (in yellow).

I wanted a giant TOYOTA on the gate, the old stock one was too small for me (& had turned to putty after 24 years).
I can’t peel it off. I’m using googone to scrape it off.

I saw a news vid earlier this morning talking about how easy it is for thieves to steal our tailgates. Who knew it was so easy to steal tailgates?

Put a hose clamp on it where it separates from the body.

I'm not worried about theft though.

Me either, really, but that's the most often suggested deterrent I've seen posted.

I've never had a tailgate stolen and have owned like 10 trucks. Hell I've never heard of that as a thing until this forum and seeing some threads about it.

it’s not just Tacoma’s, Fords, Chevys have same issue and have for years. just the way the gate is attached that makes it easy pickings. It becomes a thing when some turd bends his gate and thinks it’s better to swipe someone else’s junk instead of manning up and buying a new one....

Toyota trucks pre Tacoma (‘88 and older) had bolt on hinges to the bed. still stealable, but not as easy. I don’t recall if ‘89-‘95 were the same.

I'll privately buy it from you for a fair amount. $100 bucks more than what you bought it for. :anonymous:

Yeah I know how easy they are to take off. Just never had any issue or heard or seen any stolen ones until threads on here. There are always those jackholes that gotta take something instead of buying.

Did you lower your gixxer or did you just always park next to a curb so you didn't have any issues getting on the bike? :bikewheelie2:

I could tippy toe it with a lean. No it stayed stock height. You learn to adapt to @scottalot seat heights being short. :boink::anonymous:

It looked exact opposite with my Hyabusa. That was funny to see. I made that bike look a lot bigger than it really was.
