2002 Tacoma SAS with Diamond Front and Factory Rear.

In the front, I'm running Tundra calipers and the rear is factory drum. Tacoma dual diaphragm booster with T100 MC.

The truck won't stop well. Going down ledges is the worst and I can have the brake pedal to the floor and it'll still roll till I hit bottom (won't lock up).

I'd like to go to a rear disc brake setup, but can't afford the FROR full float set up right now. Any cheaper options?

From what I've read on the interwebs (can't remember where), I might have a hydraulic ratio issue caused by the large MC paired with the rear drums. Thoughts?

T100 would have rear drums also, I don’t think your issue is due to choice of components, more likely something is broken or out of adjustment. Rear discs won’t stop any better than properly adjusted drums. Did you buy all your parts new or used and are they OEM or remans?

    Is your booster working correctly?
Master bench bled and working correctly? Hooked up correctly? The circuit at the rear of the master is for the front brakes, front circuit is for the rear brakes. The rear drums need a residual valve.
    Brakes bled?
    LSPV intact or removed
Condition of pads, rotors, drums, fluid?

Yes you can do cheaper rear discs using Chevy components, 1/2 ton rotors with Monte Carlo calipers, or eldorado calipers if you want e-brake. Down side is the caliper pistons are way oversized compared to the fronts and you have to run a proportioning valve to dial them down, you lose e-brake with the monte Carlo calipers or have a marginal e-brake with the eldorados.

You could also look into a fzj80 rear axle if you can find one.

The problem is you still have air in the lines. Keep bleeding them. There is no reason that master shouldn’t lock up all 4 tires with those brakes.

I'll try again, but typically they are power bled and with no bubbles.

I had a T100 master with factory Dana 60 calipers up front and 3/4 ton calipers out back and was able to lock the tires up. Pedal was a little mushier than stock but it still stopped quick in an emergency. You did install the 1 ton T100 master right? 1.0625” bore.

Something i might want to look into.

You have a built link for the 1t t100 brake setup for reference?

    Cooper,
I have Diamonds front and rear all while retaining the OEM MC and booster. I did do the Tundra brake upgrade up front and have the offered discs on the rear from FROR.
My truck stops on a friggin’ dime. I did eliminate all/ anything ABS while adding a Wilwood proportioning valve.
Other than air in the system, I can’t think of why you are having issues.

The drums are the only thing I've seen different between my setup and others. I think @SMKYTXN posted some stuff about hydraulic ratios in one of his threads that made me think that may be the problem. Wish I could find it again.
