I'm really on the fence on this one. The dealer gave me a price of $2019 for 7 years/109,000 miles extended bumper to bumper coverage. OUCH!
I already have the 1 year/12,000 miles certified warranty, so that would take me out to May of 2027. I do plan to keep the truck for a long long time.
Part of me is thinking- it's a TOYOTA- come on- what FOR? Besides, I would put very little mileage on the truck, because I have 2 other vehicles. And, it's garage kept.
BUT, I've read some of the out of warranty costs to fix the infamous BSM problems and was SHOCKED. I recently had a BSM failure fixed under warranty, thankfully.
So the other part of me is thinking- ELECTRICAL problems can pop up regardless of mileage at any time, and the cost of one incident could come close to the 2K price tag for the extended warranty!
Any feedback on this would be appreciated- like repair costs for A/C, etc??

Put that money in a savings account and add 20 bucks each paycheck. By the time you actually need to use it you have the money stored and ready. Every time I buy a vehicle I decline because I know it is just pure profit for them. If I get a big bill, I am due. I would rather pay out of pocket when it happens versus pay for something that may not ever happen. Plus, with all the restrictions on those warranties on where you can do your service, not worth it. However, it is a personal choice and there is no wrong answer.
