I'm the new owner of a 2005 Tacoma Reg Cab, 4-cyl, Auto, and I have a question for you similar owners since I just purchased and I'm not familar as to how the muffler should sound. When I'm starting out thru the gears and anytime that its pulling, like on a hill, the muffler seems loud. You can hear it over anything else. My question is, is this normal or may I need a new muffler? The truck only has 31,500 miles. Thanks for your input.

If you bought it used maybe the muffler has been changed to an after market one. If not then I would say depending on how loud it is it is probably fine. Unless it is super loud then you just lucked out!
