This may have been asked before, I searched but didn't find this exact issue, so apologies if it has. I had the common fan resistor burn out issue, my fan was only working on high, blah blah. Here's where my issue seems to be different. I changed the resistor and harness, matched the wires up to the new harness exactly as the old one was, connected the wires with crimp connectors. Checked everything with my multi-meter, getting around 1 ohm between pins 1 and 3 and 2 ohms between pins 2 and 4, that seems right. Problem is my fan only worked on the middle two settings after this, the highest setting (which was the only one that worked before) and the lowest setting don't work now. I thought maybe the whole blower motor went bad, so I got a new one of those, hooked that all up and same thing. I checked the voltage on the blower motor plug, when I turn the dial on I get voltage from all four settings. I've since tried another new resistor and harness still same issue. Electrically everything looks good, I'm banging my head over here. Has anyone else seen this?

Could it be something as simple as the switch itself?

You mean the console switch? I don't think so, I get voltage at every switch position.

Yep that’s what I was referring to . It was just a guess. Sounds like you’ve done an excellent diagnostic. Maybe time to check with a pro.

Did you try do a load test for each circuit with the switch in each position?

joeyv141, I did, I'm getting 12v to the blower motor harness at at every switch position. I just ordered a new resistor, actual Toyota mfg part this time, gonna see if that makes a difference.

I wonder if you got something out of order on the harness when you first replaced it.

Fullboogie, that was the first thing I checked. I matched color to color with the new harness and even checked it against the old harness to make sure the pins matched right. I've since tried a second harness too. I have a new resistor coming tomorrow, direct Toyota part this time, as opposed to the knock-offs on Amazon. I'm going to start from step one again and redo everything step by step. Will see how it goes.
