Got rear ended while stopped at a stop light, visually the car who hit me got the worst of it, only looks like a few scratches on mine. Anything I should pay special attention to just in case ?

That looks like a fairly hard hit. I would get the frame checked out by a professional, just in case.

    Are you ok?
Hopefully brunt of the force was transferred onto that folded hood, and all your damage would be scratched up bumper. But... as mentioned before, have the frame checked by professionals (seems that Tacomas have 'soft' frame sections to absorb force of an accident, some might call it a flaw, others will call it a safety feature) , especially since police was there and you'll have an accident report.
    Good luck.

Sorry to see OP. I had it happen too after a few months of my new truck. Had their insurance to have frame checked and an alignment. Everything was fine, there hood went under my hitch so no cosmetic issues on my end. I now have a three ball and hook hitch. Steel bumpers would be a great choice. There are a ton out there. I haven’t done it, happy with my hitch, sticks out about 7 inches. Not a lot of security but would help a little and was $35 on Amazon

I got rear ended and the guy had very similar damage to you OP, had it inspected by an adjuster and it was just scratches on the black plastic bumper piece. Probably should have removed the bumper caps and took a closer look but literally nothing was bent and my bed to cab gaps were perfect. Took the 1.5 g check from his insurance and put it towards mods.

Geez, 2 accidents in one week...I don’t think she should be on the road. Also glad to hear you’re okay, hopefully the truck checks out fine

Check the brackets that connect the bumper to the frame.

I was basing my comment off of this, though I have also heard it from other people (on TW and other forums). I didn’t realize that spare bumper piece that was posted was engineered specifically to allow give and reduce impact, it does seem legit after reading the website.

Looks like sh*t but it will come handy here in LA. I lived all over the US when I was in the military and nothing compares to these sh*tty LA drivers.
