We dont need the diesel, we need power seats that can go up and down. Oh, I hear 2020 tacoma are getting power seats.

Drove a 2016 Hilux with the 2.8 and a 6-Speed manual, fun to drive for the sake of driving one in the U.S., but nowhere near as much get up and go as my 2012 Tacoma. Off road I am sure the torque is super usable within the power band, but for something that is a daily and weekender the gasser is the way to go imho.

I’m rooting for a Tacoma diesel.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t touch one with a 10 foot pole.

Nope, I want one because watching the whiny cucks on this forum moan and bitch about dirty oil, fuel filter changes, broken DEF injectors, derates due to clogged DPFs and all the fucking headaches that accompany modern diesel emission systems would warm my black soul.

Nothing is worse than a diesel grocery getter....but nothing would be better than daily posts with members hysterically reporting that their trucks are constantly in regen as they scoot in their lifted oil burner tacos between Vineyard Vines, Whole Foods and Forever 21.

The third gen forum would implode. The mods would have to mail care packets to forum members consisting of Pamprin and Lidocaine suppositories. It would be glorious.

Mexico is part of North America and they sell the diesel Hilux now. In Mexico the taco is the luxury model and more expensive, only 3 loaded TRD sport versions available. Hilux is more work truck and plain. I don't see Toyota putting the diesel in the taco, even in the few countries where both trucks are offered. The cost to make it reliable in the USA cause of exhaust laws would be crazy.

So where are you going in such a hurry in a Pick up truck?....Man I will take usable Tq, better gas mileage and longer engine life over a gasser any day. But then again I am not trying to race my truck from stop light to stop light. Just do not see the point. But I do respect to each their own.

While I disagree with you on the diesel vs gas, the rest of your post is spot on. Some people need to buy a vette not a pickup.

Nonsense. Diesels run very efficient nowadays. I get my serviced at the local Toyota dealer here for ~ $75. Take a Tacoma to the dealer in the states and you will drop $400+.

Thats fair, all boils down to preference. Having had both I prefer the turbo diesel. But its a Truck. If I want go fast I go ride my R1:)

Finally got that ECU shop huh! How are you liking the power?
I got a BRD full exhaust installed and BRC semi-race clutch
and just had my ECU shop chip re-tuned. My lil brother said it
gained power and still getting 14-17km/l (thats about 32-40mpg).
ECU shop techs are coming to my lil town and they asked for my truck to be
brought to them for a fine tuning on the chip. Looking at getting an F44 turbo
upgrade with BRD intercooler system and all the bells and whistles on the side.
With the semi race clutch installed, it sure is hard to step on that clutch, but had
a buddy installed a bigger slave cylinder, now its softer than stock...
