Ebay app coupon popped up for 15% off so I went ahead and bought these steveparkers sunroof drain kits. Now to wait on shipping and then figure out what sixe the new barbs are to order new silicone drain hoses. I also need to order new roof rail seals while the headliner is down.

Getting this sunroof leak knocked out. Then drive it for a bit to make sure it's not gonna leak

 

Things got a little bit sideways. Prepping for roof paint. I gotta take that last sunroof out still.

 

Just read through the whole thread, now I want a Land Rover. Theres one here in Flagstaff for 1K that just popped up this morning. Great Job on the rebuild, so cool to see you breathing new life into this thing.

 

Thanks! Hopefully everything that I fix will outlast the rest of the vehicle. Don't go into it thinking it'll be easy or cheap and grab it up before @the_disco_doc on IG does.

 

Somewhat covered stuff up, and my buddy is here taped up the windows and starting to sand.

 

Painted, now to let it cure, work on putting the sunroofs back in and see about getting the rest of the glass resealed.

 

Ordered some new stuff, I'll eventually get to these other projects. Molded Rubber valve cover gaskets Fel-Pro VS50789R, the old ones seem to be hard and brittle and leaking along with maybe a front seal. Grabbed some body seam sealer tape to reseal the skins around the back door when I put the trim back on.

 

Got some 3M seam sealer tape for the seam around the back door. It's thicker than I thought, I hope the trim fits over it.

 

2nd sunroof drain sealed up. Next gonna seal up some extra potential leaks with some butyl tape so I don't have to find it later and do it.

 

Damn this was obnoxious and my hand hurts.. Squeazing a tube of silicone rtv to reseal the sunroof to the roof.. Also got some butyl tape to seal up the potential leak around the sunroof motor, the white area in the drain tray. Hopefully the new internal seal under the glass keeps water out in the first place.

 

After the above resealing, asking @diverdale to print some bushings, and resetting the sunroof guides, I think the sunroofs are watertight again.

 

Scrounging around the web I found some DIY plans for sliders. Not that we will be taking this offroad, but it's another piece of old brittle plastic that I can get rid of.
