hi, here’s my situation...installed a HC rear bumper with a swing-out. Between the spare tire and the jerry can holder, the factory backup cam is completely useless.

    I’m left with two options:

    1) take the factory camera out of the tailgate handle and relocate it...

    PROS:
-I know it will work, just need to extend the wiring, but that is no big deal.

    CONS:
-leaves a hole in the tailgate handle cover thingy.
-will need to fabricate a bracket to mount it.

    2) splice in an aftermarket backup camera...

    PROS:
-most come with a bracket I can use for mounting.
-maybe better resolution than the factory cam.
-doesn’t leave a hole where the factory cam goes.

    CONS:
    -compatibility with factory wiring???

    Any help would be appreciate.
