Rock slider rust issues

    I cleaned the damaged rusting areas with detergent and water followed by solvent then the wire wheel. Painted with satin black single stage epoxy chassis and rollbar paint then hit the tops and front facing chip prone areas with black aerosol bed liner. I drive a lot of gravel roads and was surprised at how well things held up the first year. Finally after two years since the repair there are a few areas that need touched up but not too many. Like others said I dont take the sliders off and just hold a piece of cardboard to protect the truck from over spray and keep a can of lacquer thinner and a rag handy to clean up any minor overspray errors.

    The spray on herculiner seems softer than regular Krylon. I use the method above and it takes no time at all.

    Looks interesting, gonna have to give that a try.

    This is what I do. Don't understand going through the trouble of taking them off....then again mine are welded on so..
