I’ve started doing those manifolds in basement finishes that I do. Gives customers the option to just turn off one bathroom or whatever they have down there.

 

Heres my whole house manifold.

 

I’ve seen a house flood from those, and one was a slow leak in wall and seeped under wood floor and black mold set in, was a mess. Over time some of the nuts loosen idk if it’s from the pipe wanting to go back in the roll they came off

 

We run these with ball valves on all the branches cuz the plastic ones seem so flimsy and expensive

 

14 years and counting. Every water connection is open to leak. So far so good. I would do it again. Definitely worth the risk.

My pipes run in the attic. Don't worry about freezing issues with PEX. We have had PEX freeze with no issues. I have since re-insulated all the PEX runs. No more freeze on the occasional sub 30 Degree nights we may get in the Winter. I don't know how this would fare in the North though.

 

Those are good for other hobbies

HA I started mine today. Its the only real exercise I get. I spent the last five years converting from Centipede to Bermuda. Bermuda is far more tolerant, I should have 90% Bermuda this season.

 

Very nice. I love Bermuda when it’s been taking care of.

If I need a pad poured for a 7'x7' shed. How deep should the concrete be? I want the shed about level with the ground. What kind of prep do I need? or should I just drop down some pavers?

 

I'm assuming you are referring to a floating slab. I'd dig as deep as you can, the deeper the better, fill with crusher run compacted. An inch of #1 clean stone, and 4" of concrete with mesh and rebar. Cut reliefs before setting/building shed. I have about 12" of #2 clean under mine, no concrete, and I regret it everyday. Allows WAY too much uneven settling. I was pressed for time, so I didn't do it right. Another year or two, and I may move it to fix, or jack and fix in place.

 

Its the kind of thing that needs to be seen in person. You can’t see the crappiness of the cabinets in a photo.

 

Built a little box and hard mounted the hose reel. Should help with the sitting water that sometimes happens here.

 

So back to the screen porch. Does anybody have experience with screens? Fiberglass versus aluminum? I have 36x80 panels I need to replace the screens on. They stay on year round if that makes a difference.

 

If you have kids or pets, aluminum will likely show dents easily. I would go fiberglass myself.

 

I found a deal for 126 12x8x4 stone pavers for $156 + tax.
Not sure what the cost after stone, 1 yard of concrete and mesh/rebar would be. Do you think it's a smarter decision to just dig, tamp, put down sand, tamp, then pavers and place the shed on that or would that not be a good idea? Would still have to figure a way to secure the vinyl shed down, assuming something like an screw style ground anchor.
Just trying to do this cheap and effective and avoid dumping another ~600 into it. I bought a craftsman 7'x7' vinyl shed to house lanmower, wheelbarrow and gardening tools and spent about $680 on it.

 

if you are doing 7'x7' you are going to need less than a yard. going to be tough to get someone to come out for less than 1 yard. you could hand mix it but its about 27 80# bags.

Might just do pavers then for now, then when I redo my patio I'll just have both slabs poured same day.
