Hello y'all! Nolan from South Florida here. Just got myself a 2019 TRD Sport 4x2 in Cav Blue. My first personal truck. I was torn between Cement Gray and the color I went with, but the stealer gave me incentive to take a car off their lot instead of trading. I'm happy with my decision.

If anyone has any advice/input re: the following, or is in the area, I'm all ears. Being that I'm moving on from a 1999 BMW e39 with 100k miles, I don't mind getting my hands dirty or spending lots of time with my vehicle. Time well spent imho. Onto some changes I'd like to make, despite having a very limited budget. :p

Currently my taco is stock, other than the air dam I just removed this afternoon. I like the look without it. Gonna see how it affects MPG and noise.

    Future Changes/Mods/Additions:

-First thing first. A tonneau cover. Initially was leaning towards a hard tri fold, but think a soft tri-fold will suffice. I'll be sure to weather strip the sides and check for light underneath, and of course not leave valuables in the bed.

-I'd like to either paint/dip/wrap my fender flares to match the OR look (black instead of matching body paint) and would appreciate any input along those lines. I saw online that their somewhat cheap just to go ahead and purchase new as well..
-Also, wouldn't mind doing the same wrap/dip whatever to the wheels. Either full black out, or maybe black out everything other than the center hub cap, and match that to the body? (randomly saw this on a taco driving by on the road)

-Running boards got me very torn. Sometimes I think it makes the stance/clearance a little too low, other times I think it looks aggressive and purrrty (at the same time???).
*edit, 5/22* I don't want, I NEED a blacked out skeewppp, and blacked out grille too

Now, I haven't done any off-roading in my life so I went with a more cost effective 4x2. I figured (and HOPE) not having 4x4 isn't a deal breaker should I ever decide to go. If and when I do get stuck, hopefully a friend can pull me out or I'll pay to get towed. Does that seem reasonable?

Thanks for reading. Glad to be a part of the community. Seems like a cool joint. I look forward to making some friends.

    Welcome!

There are lots of varying opinions here on 4x4, but since you don't go off-roading or live in a place with harsh winters you probably made a smart choice with 4x2. You could always add some good all-terrain tires or even a locker if you want to do a bit of off-roading.

Two accessories I'd highly recommend: the OEM bed mat and some all-weather floor liners.
