The Beer Nerd - what are you drinking / brewing thread

Imagine that....a sunny Sunday afternoon and EVERYBODY across the continent is imbibing....shocked, I am....not...

 

And my afternoon.....

Sitting on the deck, napping, and a hunting buddy shows up to talk about spring bear hunting....

Yellow Dog Brewery in Port Moody and Strange Fellows Brewery in Vancouver....

The IPA is very mild, like an ale...and the ale is really hoppy...both were very nice.

And it is the Lower Mainland...we actually do have real Mermaids; they ride the grey whales.

 

Garage modding beer. Finally hanging all my surf bags up in the garage with the boards. Thanks to @TXpro4X4 for leaving this last night

 

Surf wall 90% complete. Just need to make a shelf to store wax and fins and such. One beer projects are the best.

 

And the afternoon continues...it IS the Victoria Day long weekend, after all....

A Great Canadian....the north of the 49th version of The Big Red. 4 ounces of beer, so it qualifies for this thread Drink is still under construction, with the ice machine upstairs.

Should be Canadian whisky, but I was fresh out and had to make do with Chivas.

Best one is Alberta Distillery...Canadian Club will rot your innards.

Funny, there are a disproportionate number of whisky distilleries in Alberta. Yes, my American brethren and friends, that IS spelled correctly, without the 'e'. We add letters to 'colour' and 'flavour', but remove them from important words.

There is a good reason for this. Not the letters, but the places-where-whisky-is-made. Having been stationed a year in (very) northern Alberta early in my professional life (it was the longest decade of my life) I understand why high octane ETOH would be popular, even necessary.

 

Lol.... rainy and nasty as all heck here. No imbibing either! Lol...

 

About time I see a worthy looking brew...

 

This is much less disappointing than the last season of the series.

 

Well, the Victoria Day king wwwkend is the official start to the camping season...and it is also proof that the universe has a twisted sense of humour, cuz it is warm and beautiful right now, but it'll be picking and cold by 0800 tomorrow, just as everyone is waking up on their tents...

Belgian pale today I brewed for the Belgian yeast cake I used last weekend. Then did some sour blending and came up with 5 gallons of a cherry oude bruin with a few oak cubes, 5 gallons mango pale rye/oude bruin mix, and 2.5 gallons of passion fruit of the later as well. They'll be done in 2 months or so, maybe. Refilled my 6 gallon solera project (been going about 4 years now) with the other 2.5 gallons of last weekend's brew to be ready to process soon. I'm tired, but the Belgian pale is already rocking on that yeast cake

 

Nice cutlery display too. I rather like damascus.

 

Hell yea... there was cake and ice cream!
