Same here! My 1st 4x4. After the Hidden Falls trip, with veterans giving a NOOBE class to about 10 of us, I am convinced my truck is part mountain goat! My 1st wheeling experience was at night!...after a few drinks. Here unedited. You can hear when I crack open another beer. The next day the NOOBE of about 10 folks, including one T4R with paper plates went down that same spot. Here This group is absolutely awesome to go wheeling with! Everyone is actually willing to help us new guys learn the ropes!

 

Spent the weekend replacing my sagging 13" 600lb springs with Eibach 14" 650 lb springs in my Fox coilovers (almost went & had bought 14" 600 lb springs but my truck seems to be getting fatter each couple months so went heavier).

Also installed Dirt King's LCA's, with new bump stops.

 

Just checked out your video, wow at night, that's crazy. Looked fun. I would love to go wheeling with a bunch of tacoma's sometime. Yea Tacomas are definitely part mountain goat lol

 

Could be your first and last 4x4. If I were on trail with folks drinking I would turn and go the other direction. You do your driving and have great fun AND have a beer or a few drinks after you have parked your rigs for the evening and started up the food and campfire.
Not a noob, just have zero respect for drinking and driving whether on the road or off. Sad to see you "celebrating" this-some have lost friends and family this way.

Added a tailgate pad for riding days, and a tonneau cover for all the other days.

 

You know the normal taped on badges can pull off really easy. Some people were having theirs blow off while driving.

Just do a search on Ebay for TRD Emblems and they several sellers on there selling them.

 

That looks great. Looks like you have the orange trim on your dash, does the color of the steering wheel cover match it pretty well?

For today’s “after everyone’s in bed” project, I added a set of front mud flaps to hopefully keep the side of my truck cleaner.

I used two of the supplied self tapping screws to mount them to the fender liner along with three of the stock fender liner bolts. Hope they last and provide enough coverage when I move up from the stock 245’s to 265’s.

 

Finally finished running the harness for the beat sonic kit this weekend since I was pulling the dash off to install the stealth pro shifter. I bought it months ago and it’s been stored in my “mod” stash. After it was all buttoned up my front cam wouldn’t come on, same with the rear. Put it in reverse and that didn’t work either. Checked all the connections to no avail. Hopefully beatsonic will be responsive.


At least it wasn’t a complete waste- with stage2 stealth pro shifter installed. Installing the diy kit was quite satisfying. Blacked out stitching too.


I have made it a habit to press ect before shifting from park and I’d have to find the switch on the dash. Now there is no searching for the button With the press of a thumb.

Friday I adjusted the front rokblokz metal bracket. I didn’t like how it pulled back on the inner corner of the flap so I bent the angled bracket (was roughly 60* angle) to a 90*

Last weekend installed 1.25 spidertrax spacers. Will have to recheck on the torque this week. Used a red scotch bright pad to remove the surface rust, cleaned it up, put a thin layer of anti seize on mating surface and red locktite. While I had the wheels off I went ahead and deep cleaned the inside wheel bowl. Definitely plan on painting the stock wheels soon…

 

Did the same, worked fine. I was definitely concerned for a while.

The red stitching is the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on this @MESO mod! How’d you black out the stitching? Sharpie?
