If you have done this, I was wondering if it mounts OVER the OEM plate like on the 2nd gen or does the factory plate need to be removed? Any guidance is appreciated!

I could only assume the factory being removed as well. Why would anyone have to unbolt two skid plates just to change their oil.

The skid plate for the second gen was designed to mount over (under) the factory pan.

Yes. I wondered if they will fit over the OEM plate when mounted on a third gen.

Assuming it would fit, why do you want to? The third gen one is much much beefier. Just curious.

    $175 vs $400.

I don't know if you've seen them in person, but just so you're aware, the 2nd gen one is pretty much purely cosmetics. If that's what you're going for, then nothing wrong with that at all. If you want protection though, the 3rd gen one (or aftermarket options) will be better suited towards your needs. Just want to help you make an educated decision.

Gotcha. Honestly, it is 90% aesthetics. I can admit that. We're all friends here.
