You need to read a bit then. You can run whatever you want but Toyota definitely won't be responsible for anything if you have even touched the sensor. It does require precise calibration, so much so they have different calibration specs depending on what grille the stock truck had.
    Good luck.

My dealership did mine with the faux grille without any questions or waivers. I would recommend checking with another dealership, if you have that luxury, as it seems to be pretty hit an miss.

Pretty much up to the master tech on the clock whenever your truck rolls in.

I got a faux Pro grille but an OE sensor cover. My vehicle had the TSB —adding a neoprene cover to the back of the sensor— done before I took delivery a month ago.

I have used the TSS/ACC in the rain and so far everything seems to be working fine.

You dont have to be a master tech to do the work.

Wow. I guess a lot depends on the dealer and techs assigned the day you arrive. As I mentioned in the other thread, I have a bigger tires/wheels and a faux grill and they did not refuse to do the work.

They should have voided, it's actually in the instructions. Tires, grill, and grill type all void the campaign from proceeding. There's lots of reasons for this, and all are valid. I just wish there was a disclaimer that would help people move forward when it is modified.

Maybe since I had the OEM sensor up front and no history of issues with auto braking/ pre collision faults they decided to proceed. Every dealer visit is different and depends on a lot of reasons, from one car make to the next.

    There is lol.
Guys, the point is not if a dealer will do the TSS fix due to your mods, the point is TSS might not work correctly when you need it most and, God forbid, someone gets hurt in a crash. And if that happens, your mods release Toyota of all liability.
How hard is this to understand?
You mod it, especially anything to do with TSS like different grille, lift or anything else, you are on your own in an accident.

Maybe that's dealer dependent too. The two closest Toyota dealers to me are running all of the recall work through the Master Techs. Maybe it's for their own piece of mind?

In Canada it's just a provincial license, which has high standards up here. 4 years of courses and training.

You still need to be either a dealer tech, pro tech or master tech to do campaigns.

    I stand corrected.

The repair quality of covered vehicles is extremely important to Toyota. To ensure that all vehicles have the repair performed correctly, the minimum technician requirements, along with any required courses or videos, have been listed below. Technician Certification TU Courses TU Video Provincial License 2F1A-OL It is the dealership’s responsibility to select technicians with the above certification level or greater and that have taken/passed any additional training to perform this recall repair

Anyone has experience with Toyota of Gladstone? Have my appointment Wednesday, 18 OR with a pro grill and 265/75/16 duratracs. Hope they don’t give me issues! :fingerscrossed:

The Pro grille is different than the others. The lower models get the full foam over the sensor, the pro just gets the vents on the front side covered. YMMV.
