    Its $200/yr for the basic plan which is all anyone who's worried about emergencies would really need. Seems expensive but one of those things thats IF you actually need it, its worth all the $ you have.

    Had one when I was backpacking around the world but it was the first gen I'm sure the newest one is much better. If you're doing serious back country stuff, solo motorcycle exploring, sailing or even just backpacking like me I'd seriously recommend it. If I do another around the world adventure I'll definitely buy another one.

    Only reason in parting with it is I ponied up for the in reach, because I'm doing so many days in the field per year I want the 2 way communication.
