Humboldt County ohv?

Is there anywhere in Humboldt where I can take my truck out for the weekend? Logging roads, mountain roads, anything... The only place I could find was the Samoa dunes.

 

Tons of places.

Default answer is get a Delorme Gazeteer and chase the squiggly gray roads.

But here's a few:

Trails - Devil's Backbone at the end of Mad River Rock Lookout Rd, south of 36 (actually in Trinity Co, but just barely); Pickett Peak Trail...

Easy dirt - Usal Rd (partially in Mendo), 100 Acre Prairie Rd and associated unnamed roads off of it, Bair Rd, Dowd Rd, Snow Camp and 5 Mile Cutoff Rd, French Camp Rd, NF-23 / Horse Ridge Lookout Rd... Closer to Eureka you have the dirt portion of Kneeland Rd, Showers Pass Rd, Mtn View Rd, Redwood House Rd, Bear River Ridge Rd... pretty much every back road in the Six Rivers and Shasta-Trinity NF... Lacks Creek BLM area... sand road leading from the south jetty to almost the Eel River... really there's more dirt than pavement in HumCo...
