So the coil would fire normal until it gets hot then starts missing after the engine warms? Just to clarify. I am going to replace the o2 sensor first see if that has any effect then work my way down the list. Thanks for the help! I will let you know if i find a solution because none of the other threads ive read have one for this issue.

It is most certainly possible that heat could cause your coil not to fire correctly.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Just for poops and laughter the next time it dies while hot unplug the intake air temp sensor (little sensor that's shoves into the left upper side of the airbox) and try to crank it over again.

That and check for spark and injectors clicking while cranking.

The o2 sensor has nothing to do with this, but go ahead replace it if you want. I just told you why the car is dying, If you google that code youll see a number links for Lexuses with the same engine, that have the same issue.

The 3RZ has never made an appearance in a Lexus. That said the issue you mentioned is likely the culprit.

Im not disregarding your suggestion about the coil. Im just trying one thing at a time utill i get to that point. Im sure you can understand how flustrating these kinds of things can be when your troubleshooting. Im sure the o2 sensor is not the issue.

Seems like Cal gave you some good advice. Start off cheap and check the connection on the igniter.

Found one coil with a very weak spark when it gets hot. One coil has a dark blue spark the other has weak yellow. I will change it asap and post an update.

I have never seen a fuel trim adjustment greater than 29%. If your shows negative 100% means that the PCM is shutting off ALL fuel injection as in decel fuel cutoff. It sounds like you have access to a OBDII scanner, if so, and it has the capability for freeze frame data, check it. Freeze frame is what all the checked parameters were when the CEL was illuminated.
