This may be a stupid question....but what does an a/c amplifier do and how does it do it?

Sorry but A/C is beyond me ( except for using it).

OK. I see the schematics. And the diagram showing where it is and how to install it.
But that doesn't answer my question. I'm not an engineer, can you translate all that into somple English...what does it do and how does it do it? Or is it just a Ventura to make the air go faster? Please explain.
    Thank you.

No I cannot in in a reasonable amount of time and space I have on the forum.

But If you look at the second schematic that shows the AC Amplifier as a block in the middle and it accepts various outputs from the AC Controls and sensors and uses the electronic logic circuits inside to turn on and control various things such as Turning on the AC Compressor Clutch or Controlling the Mode Servo Motor Position. If you are really interested maybe you could look into a course of auto electronics.

Trying to keep it in shape and running nicely.
I recently installed a AC/Compressor clutch and the connector on the truck and the new one do not match up. How concerned should I be about this? Is it OK to just remove the old and new connectors and just connect the wires? Is this a normal thing to do or not recommended?

The old connector and the new connector should look exactly the same. I see on your signature you have a 1997. If you bought the connector listed here in many discussions it probably is not the correct connector.

If and when you get the correct blower connector you will have to cut and crimp or solder the wires.

    Resistor and connector needed:

Look at both connectors on the motor. I'd be willing to bet one or both of them are burned.

If they have burn marks you need to replace the connector plugs.

    Part number 90980-10916 Connector

Part Number 82998-12380 Wire and terminal

Not sold as a kit, sold as each. So you will need one of the plugs and two of the terminal and wires.
