Just picked up a set of these. If you don't already know, these are made by Cooper for Mickey Thompson. These are basically a STT Pro with a more aggressive tread and sidewall and a softer rubber compound. I will have to weigh them but my UPS shipping label says they weigh 64 pounds each which would be very low for a 35" tire. Unlike a lot of 35" tires, these actually measure as 34.8" tall. These are also a D load range instead of E like most 35's. It is such a new tire I really couldn't find much in the way of reviews but I liked the specs so I figured I would give them a shot.

I'm a huge Mickey Thompson Tire fan. It's sad they're often overlooked in the Toyota scene, especially considering that Cooper owns them and we all know majority people here love Cooper lol.

These are a little more aggressive than what I need but I love really like them. I'm honestly surprised they introduced these as their MTZ's are a tried and true demanding terrain tire. I hope they aren't trying to phase them out.

I currently have the ATZ P3's in 35's and they have been amazing. I love that their tires are lighter than just about all the other tires on the market, and they pack the same, if not better, tech than most the large brand names.

Interested in how well they balance, how well they flex when aired down, and road noise. My biggest thing would be how well they handle in snow. Deep lugs like that often like to dig too much. The ATZ's have outshined the Duratrac's in the snow in my opinion.

I definitely don't have to worry about snow in Phoenix although we actually got some this year. IMO, Mickey Thompson has always made some good looking tires. I was hoping the 64lbs listed on the UPS label was accurate but they weigh 69.5lbs according to my scale. That is still 5.5lbs lighter than the 35" KM3 tires I was planning on running. I haven't heard much about balance issues with Cooper tires - it seems the ST Maxx tends to pull right though. Hopefully I will get them mounted sometime in the next month so I can comment on the road noise and ride quality.

Just threw a set of 35x12.50 17's at my Tacoma! I absolutely love them.

How'd they balance? I had a set of STT Pros that I could never get balanced right.

Balance was spot on. For reference, this is my 4th set of tires after stock. Cooper ST Maxx, BFG KM2, Nitto Terra Grappler G2, and the Mickeys. The BFG's had a terrible balance that never could get under control. Nittos were good too, but these big Baja tires surprised me with how smooth that are. Only average amount of wheel weights in there, not a ton of lead.

Cool. I may possibly do these next if they come in a 305/70R16. We'll see. They sure look good.

They look amazing, but probably howl like a MF on the pavement.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Interesting - I've had a couple sets of Mickey Thompsons (Baja Claw on my old Yukon and Baja MTZ P3 on my Taco).

I was not impressed with the MTZ P3s - they wore way too quickly, soft rubber compound got chunked and chewed-up easily on the trails, had a hard time balancing, punctured one on a logging road (unsure on what) and needed to plug it.

I currently run the STT Pros and have been pretty happy with them, but they do not balance too well. Performance-wise, they are fantastic.

I am curious how these new Baja Boss hold up over time and on jagged/rocky terrain. The weight, tread lug design, D-range, and balancing all sound promising (so far).

EDIT - No 16" options (yet) but they are adding 15 addtl. sizes in 2020: https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/news/the-baja-boss-is-back

Bringing this back from the dead. OP, any updates after running this tire?
