Monaco is Mega...Vettel putting his car into the wall at the beginning of FP3 hopefully doesn’t shake scuderia too much... Quali will be interesting

That's one way to pick your drivers 1 and 2. Just get rid of number 2.

Seems like they are handicapping Sharl for sure. I’m predicting he’ll work his way up to five if he can stay out the open lap maylee.

Binotto explaining that they took a risk to save tires for Q2 and Q3 and maybe have a shot at the Mercs.
In the case of today taking margin to leave a set of tyres for Q2 and Q3, and for us certainly today taking some risks was key to perform as well as we could in Q2 and Q3 so somehow be challenging our main competitors in Q3 together with Charles and Seb."
Translation - Yet again we gamble with the kid, favour Vettel, and fail massively.

Imagine getting a dream drive at Ferrari, then being subjected to bizarre tactical stupidity. He'd be better off at Alfa or Toro Rosso!

HAM sure was happy about that quali run. I can't blame him; Monaco is not his favorite place and he must have reached deep. Vettel was reaching deep too, perhaps too much so.

Quite boring as usual. Monaco needs a mandatory 2 stop in order to be interesting.

Bullshit call byb the stewards on the RB early pit release penalty. RB compromised Bottas' race and his championship points race yet was allowed to leave fishlips in second to push, and nearly crash into, Hamilton.

Agreed. Even prior to the Haas and Alfa touch which resulted in a steeper penalty then VER and BOT in the pit lane....

love or hate HAM he drove that car how he should have to finish that race in 1st on Soft Tyres.....a diamond Q3(sketchy albeit) lap and playing wide in Monaco is the name of the game... obligatory 2 stop or not, anyone in his shoes would've done the same...

Going slow and being wide at Monaco is terrible racing to watch. At least for me. The most exciting parts were drivers trying to make the pass. Even when it didn't work. Had Max been given a drive thru I think it would have resulted in an even more boring race. Bottas wouldn't have been allowed to pass his team mate and Vettal might not have taken the risk if he could even keep up given his issues. I get Monaco has history in F1 but it's shit to watch unless it rains or there are wrecks that change the order around. I guess I'm just over seeing the Mercs always win. Maybe if you are a Lewis fan it's cool and he is the GOAT right now but it's bloody boring mate.:bored:

Yeah, i can see what you mean. Ill say that i was/would’ve been excited to see VER take the drive through penalty and then see what MERC had to say from a team order perspective (i am more of a Bottas fan, and imagined him pushing a bit more had VER been out of the way, and just had VET in between him and Ham)

could’ve resulted in a MERC 1-2 rather than a MERC 1-3...still a very difficult track to pass on..

I'm not as impressed as Mercedes thinks I should be since a glacial pace dictated by the race leader and eventual winner is pretty much SOP at Monaco. Ricciardo did the same last year with even slower average lap speeds. He had both tire and power problems yet Vettel couldn't get past. Hamilton almost screwed the pooch this year by going too fast for too many laps in places where he didn't need to do so.
