Welcome to the forum. Most will tell you that upgrading your intake is a waste of money and that there's really no power gain. I found it gave a better throttle response. I didn't test for power or mpg. I pick AFE as they made the TRD intakes.

OEM should be just fine. It pulls cool air from the front fender. Adding a CAI will only give you a larger filter within the engine bay and that is going to suck hot air that's circulating under the hood. Thats the reasoning behind everyone suggesting you keep oem.

Fwiw, I had some leftover heat block material. I was bored while camping this past weekend and wrapped some of the oem tubing and filter box. Maybe it'll help with heat soak on the oem plastic intake? Maybe not. Who knows. But it was a fun project to just kill time with.

The same people saying "CAI is a waste of money" are spending $$$ on armor and big tires just to drive to the mall. It's your money. Get a CAI and enjoy it. It'll sound cool. It's worth it for that alone. The TRD one is good, AFE is good too.
