I just bot my 1st Taco and really want a normal double lined steel bed like my 94 Toy p/u. Mostly because I really need the space along the sides. Its quite disappointing how theyve done this composite thing. Is there an easy way to insert a same size steel bed or must I have fabricated an entire inner?

Maybe just rhino line the composite? What exactly do you not like about it out of curiosity?

I beat the crap out of my bed and it’s doing just fine :notsure:. Probably your best option is to bedline the whole bed.

Bedliner doesn't stick to the composite. A lot of shops will outright turn you away if you come in for a quote.

I also have no idea what OP is referencing, the bed dimesions are gonna be the same regardless, and the composite is actually more resilient than the steel or aluminum in other beds.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking.

The composite is light and durable, plus easy to drill hole in in case you want to mount lights or something. The truck os only rated for like 1000lbs payload. Maybe even less. No need for steel. I throw firewood and other hard shit in there all the time.

I love the composite. Does the space along the rails in a steel bed make that much of a difference?

The big plus for me with composite is that it doesn't rust (unlike the frames )

I cracked mine, now I'm more careful. If you are carrying large steel pipe or stuff really heavy be careful. Metal beds dent, ours cracks.

Depends on the impact. I have seen the corner of a toolbox go straight through the floor of a silverado bed.
