    The only issue I have seen with the slumberjack awning is that you actually have to use the guy lines. With my awnings I only use guy lines for wind or if I am using the snapin room. On the awning you can actually run the guy lines backwards and connect to the sliders since the awning frame holds itself away from the truck.

    This is true, but everything is supplied with slumberjack. The stuff's overbuilt. And you can also run the tarps without a vehicle, A-frame style. I've pound one of the supplies stakes thru a buried rock, didn't phase it.

    Simple mod, looked at the mountain hatch and mobtown tail gate options, but they are over $200. This is 1/4” HDPE from Tap Plastics which was $54. Took me longer than expected to install as I only had a little finish router as it wouldn’t close with a 1/4” thickness on the edges. But looks good enough and saves my knees when I’m crawling up

    Do you think 1/4" is sufficient? Seeing as how the retail parts are like 1/2".

    Asking because I have some spare 3/16" ABS (even thinner than yours) that I am considering making one from.

    @literallynothing look at this

    When I push down on the sections in between the supports it barely moves. I figured if I break it, well it was only $54 and my effort. 1/2” would be very strong (kinda heavy too) but the sides you have to shave down to about 3/16”. So I say try it

    Stock thickness is about 3/16” but it’s been molded and shaped for strength, and to bust knee caps. The aftermarket ones are 1/2” in the middle but thin on the sides as the clearance closing is minimal

    I'll give it a shot with the 3/16" then, thanks!

    Anyone going to Moon Rocks this weekend?
    Son is taking the crawler and found that his trailer frame was bent. So I spent the day plating it and building some rails.

    There’s a new app coming from Overland Bound. What I really like is how you can render a 3D map (Pokémon Go like) to see how a trail twists and turns up a mountian.

    Minute 7:30 shows some of the functionally
