    Whole lotta stuff
Next time I have them rebuilt I’m going to have the shop install elbow fittings on the resis so I can use king vertical mounts for the reservoirs.

Anyone have experience with the remote reservoirs moving enough to hit their frame? We have terrible roads in Omaha and when one wheel hits a sizable bump, it sounds as if the 90* fitting going into the reservoir is hitting the frame. Haven't pulled the mount apart yet just seeing if others have had similar issues. I absolutely hate clunks/thuds and other noises in general and this one is driving me crazy. Already pulled my sway bar as the relocation kit moved the bar into the frame brace shown here... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sway-bar-and-a-power-steering-pump.609869/#post-20649685

Edit: spent about an hour on this when I got home. Pulled both mounts and found the tip of the reservoir hitting the body seam commonly in the way of the upper control arm bolt. Since the shock is aluminum this interference was actually eating away at the body of the reservoir. I would have moved the reservoir back if i could get the hose to play nice but I've had the same issues with getting it in the right spot as many others have noted in this thread.

I cut a piece of rubber outdoor mat and placed it between the mount and reservoir body and it essentially filled the gap. Took it for a drive and no more rattle! Gotta love getting rid of unwanted noises.

Trim it back a little. That was part of my way of getting it to fit. I forgot to post it here but i'll try tomorrow to take some pics and go into detail of how i got mine to fit best

Way late with this update, I actually got the reservoirs clocked pretty easily with some sleep and a level head in the morning. Once I got the hang of adjusting the fitting and hose it wasn't so bad. My issue was compounded by having boxed UCAs (LSK) which left about 6mm of space maybe less on each side of the hose at full droop. The big ticket to getting them fit for me was facing the fittings out and trimming the fender well a little at the front of the mount location. Only needs about a cm by 5-6cm section cut out which allows the resi to be pushed forward enough that the hose isn't stretched or jammed tight against the coil. Once I got the hose tension right I could rotate the resi to get the hose to sit where I wanted between the coil and UCA. Frustrating to deal with all this first time through but once I got it I got it

So just thought I would post up a little experiment I did.

Been driving for almost a year with about 2-2.5” worth of lift with my ADS 2.5 with 700# coils, this was around 1-1.25” of preload. I decided to lower the ride height to 1.5” worth of lift, which equates to about 3/4-7/8” worth of preload. Essentially I only lowered about 3.5 threads worth when I adjusted the collar.

After decreasing the preload I was surprised by how much more dampening I noticed in the shocks... I did not expect this

Small bumps that I noticed before are practically unnoticeable now. Will be sticking with it for now. Plus I like the little bit of rake it has now. Steering seems slightly better too. I’m surprised it still steers straight, but I will do a re-align tomorrow.

I would suggest using PB Blaster. It helps lubricate as well as provide a layer used for corrosion resistance. Double duty in one can!

So it's a ways off until I upgrade, but what kind if spring would I be looking at to get 1.5" of lift with a 4cyl AC 4x4?

I don't want a truck thats got a crazy amount of lift since it'll cause issues with clearance at work and I just wanna run 31s but want something better than this bouncy stock set up.

The 6112/5160 Bilsteins work but I would rather have something thats rebuildable and is made local.

Tl;dr what kind of spring should I get for 1.5" lift in the front on a 4cyl?

Passenger side squeaking like a rusty box spring. I’m 90% sure it’s the coil-over and not the UCA (Bajakit) based on movement needed to reproduce, but I’m going to dig into in the next few days to see exactly where it’s coming from.

That said, I’m sad if these need serviced already. What’s the general rebuild timeline I should be expecting in light off-road applications for these? I’m around 30k right now.

There's no set number, but I've heard 50k is reasonable for light use.

just rebuilt mine after 45-50k miles. I've read anywhere between 30-50k depending on how much you off road is a good rebuild interval. YMMV.

Check your UCA Ball joint + bushings as well as your LCA bushings. My driver side has been squeeking for a while but I was able to identify the LCA bushings were shot. Just replaced those with some whiteline poly bushings. so far its been great.

That’s where having a friend to listen / bounce while I listen will come into help. I’ve lubed all the usual suspect spots without dropping the coil out so far to no joy.

I’ll be buying a UCA rebuild kit, body mount bushings, and LCA bushings at the same time.. and likely getting my shocks rebuilt with 700# springs at the same time.

Rebuild time depends on how you use them and the climate you live in. I had mine rebuilt at like 20k miles and they were due.

That being said, my lower spherical bearings only last one wheeling season and make all sorts of creeky squeaking sounds when they're going bad. Cost like $10 and are easy to replace yourself. COM10T

In the last twelve months, it’s seen Hawaii salt, a Pacific Ocean transit, and now an Appalachian winter (and WV treats the shit out of their roads).

Now I gotta tell her I need to have my truck on jacks while I maybe have to get them redone.

Spray some lubricant on your lower spherical bearing and see if the sounds quiets down. I bet they're bad.

You can swap them easily yourself in between rebuilds.
