Here's one for the community...the bed bolts attach to the frame, correct? So how strong are the bed bolts? I am considering using them as a mount for some fabricated brackets for a storage box and would feel terrible if the bolts ripped out of the bed. I would think ripping those out would be extremely difficult but figuring a 250 pound box might stress it and I don't want to risk damaging something. I'd use a longer bolt as necessary as well.

For what it's worth, the idea is to use a large L bracket to secure the box between the bulkhead and the bracket and use the upright section of the bracket to secure the box. You'd have to open the box to get to those nuts and the brackets would be attached to the frame through the bed bolts. Would that work?

Those bolts are I think 4-6 inches long and people use them when they put in Bed Reinforcements. And then attach things to them so I think you will be good.

It’ll be fine, especially is you bracket behind them. Strong like bull.
