Pioneer! Mine cost $325 and has Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. It is also compatible with a backup camera and has HD Radio.

Thanks. Can you suggest a model? I looked at a few pioneers on a best buy website, but none were compatible with 2002 Tacoma.

But be careful when buying from Crutchfield. They make it seem like they don't collect sales tax anywhere buy Virginia (where they're based), and technically they don't. Unfortunately, they've started reporting purchases to certain states. When I filed my tax return, I got hit up for a $25 sales tax (I live in Pennsylvania where it's 6%) for a $325 head unit I'd purchased 13 months before!

Yeah all online retailers are now supposed to collect sales tax based off your shipping address. There was a grace period that ended in early 2019, but in theory ALL online retailers are suppose to be charging/collecting it.

I think the law went into effect around then. From what I gathered the bigger the online merchant the more the IRS was monitoring them. Not sure exactly how big crutchfield is but I’m guessing they aren’t terribly small, so maybe they got wise early?

Yeah, I guess a bunch of cities banded together since it was gutting their local sales tax revenues. Annoying but now it’s just selection and timing. If my local store still has to order it, probably quicker/cheaper to order it directly.

I just installed a Pioneer AVH210EX today. Just at $200 through Amazon, with a wiring harness for the Tacoma. Came with back-up camera too. Well pleased so far, but I am not an audiophile.
