Tempting but not sure I want to spend that much to get out that weekend. It adds up with gas, camping, event and park fees. I would also have to leave on saturday to be home for work on sunday.

Expect never ending construction on almost every highway in the DFW area. Traffic can get bad, but nowhere near LA bad

    Anyone seen my wallet?
    We welcome your kind.

-where should I look - how much u trying to spend and what kind of people do you wanna be surrounded by?

    Dallas
Pretentious socialites - down town, uptown, west end
Wanna be rich college kids - uptown, greenville ave
Quiet old money - turtle creek, highland village
People who wanna live close the above but save a lil money - north dallas, addison
People who wanna live like above but avoid them - plano, frisco, allen but not care too much about saving the money

People who wanna be in arms reach but save a lil money, less traffic, less assholes - grapevine, the colony, lewisville, grand prairie

People who wear cowboy boots but dont murder eachother - anywhere in ft worth except the area just around north of downtown, Arlington

FU money - westlake, southlake, mansfield

People most of the rest of is dont understand - Denton

    -where are good areas

    See above

-what is a good direction to come in from (L.A. traffic mentality)

Its all tumbleweeds and dirt as soon as you hit the border. Cali is closer to El Paso than El Paso is to DFW.

    -what to expect

    Assholes

    -avoid at all costs

    Assholes

    -other, etc.

EDIT: i forgot irving, avoid south and east irving, nah avoid it all got to many people on my commute to work

    First of all, Welcome.

    Secondly........

-where should I look: If you are working in Grapevine, the most house for your money with a reasonable commute is going to be the northern Ft Worth area/Justin area. Theres literally 15 towns in that area so if you just look around Justin you'll pretty much be on the money. Real estate prices are stupid cheap compared to LA area anyway.
-where are good areas: Honestly, most of north DFW are good areas. Some are "better" some are crappier. I personally avoid south dallas like the plague. It's just like any other big city.
-what is a good direction to come in from (L.A. traffic mentality) It heavily depends on exactly where youre going. I work in Grapevine and live in Lewisville so Im coming into GV from 121 and/or 114. Theres a highway about every 16 feet here so finding a reasonable path for your commute is pretty easy with the exception of a few problem areas and they arent on the Grapevine side of DFW.

As far as the other two, I dont really know how to answer that. Stay away from Oak Cliff (personal opinion, some will argue that with me), certain parts of Irving can get sketchy (mostly around the hospital), the area around the dallas county jail is sketchy.

Any friends want to help me out? We have a Coach purse that’s been discontinued and have been trying to sell for a reasonable price, but serious biters shy away when they realize the shoulder strap is “broken”. Essentially, the female screw hole is stripped and wrecked the male screw on one end. Genders assumed.

Need a helicoil kit in the correct size which should come with a tap

i dont know what size you need but it should look something like this
    https://www.amazon.com/Helicoil-5546-6-Metric-Coarse-Thread/dp/B0002KKPXK

to find out what size you need take the strap up to homedepot and go to their bolt section there will be a plate mounted where you can test to see which thread pitch and size it is.

What about just a little JB weld in the hole, shove the screw in it, and hide/clean up any excess.

If it’s just the threads, it’ll still spin as normal once it’s attached, and mush easier.
