    I get that, just remember hearing how high mileage flushes are a bad idea because of what you alluded to, containments becoming dislodged causing the transmission to slip / fail. A flush at 70k shouldnt have those issues.

    I dropped my pan to clean the magnets, replaced the filter and did a full +12 quart flush on my 2nd gen Taco tranny at 125k miles. The old WS fluid looked like chit compared to new Valoline MaxLife synthetic. I wish I’d done it sooner. I also installed a Magnafine magnetic filter on the return line, just for extra protection.

    Oh, it might be a good idea for OP to flush the power steering fluid as well since it’s the same fluid.
