Got it, thanks for the advice. We tried the “OUCH!” thing today and she looked puzzled, but stopped biting. We will keep at it and use the crate for positive aspects of her training.

 

Actually, you're using the crate to calm, not punish. Never put the dog in angry, just walk her over to the crate and let her in.

 

We still have our crate(with the door off) sitting in the back room for our 9 year old Shepard mix and he goes and lays in there when he wants to get away.

 

A true rescue! Good on you guys for saving her. I would venture to say the love is mutual!

 

The suspected cause happened tuesday. out for a walk and we ran a half block with a quick stop, pretty sure that was the cause. Wow!! As of now the vet is wanting to prescribe antibiotics today if theres no noticeable improvement. He cant figure out whats wrong, definitely his knee. Blood work is clean, X-ray is fine, thinks possible minor infection on his growth plate. Time for more meds.... UGH Breeder is adamant its his psaos muscle but her and her therapists are a few hours away. NOT a fan of drug use but the word infection scares me...

Thanks for the positive vibes, were on day 3, hard to tell right now how he's doing, sleeeeepy..

So far yes, he still nips and play bites, but he's young and doing this at this age should provide good results later.

BUT on a lighter note and to stay on topic, PICS! 1st time in the mountains, 2 days before injury.
