good morning, I am aware of the “learning” that goes on after resetting the pooter. Is it possible to not get a good clear? My battery was disconnected during front pipe replacement and it hasn’t run the same since doing it. Couple hundred miles since. No cel or anything (o2 is plugged in) but it seems to be running lean. Sounds more like an air compressor than an engine. Lol, anyway, the battery (+ and-) disconnected overnight and my question is should I immediately try to get some highway mileage on in. Previously it was around town a day or two before I got to 55+. Is there an ideal way to reteach this thing? Thanks in advance.

    Reserected from the dead.
I'm guessing you have a bad exhaust leak.

I am sitting here trying to figure out what could possibly be the issue... front 02 sensor? rag in the exhaust? I think the place to start is by checking the fuel trims and pending code. There is no real harm in resetting it again. I have never heard of a bad reset.

The o2 should be fine, the reason I replaced the front pipe is cuz I couldn’t get a good o2 gasket seal, it was rotted. The truck actually ran well before I replaced it. I gotta pick up a scanner. I’ve put it off long enough.

In addition, it’s shifting way to early from a stop, nearly immediately goes to second then third. :annoyed:

What do you mean sounds like an air compressor? Under the hood, or at the tailpipe? This sounds fishy...

It just sounds dry. Like it’s wicked lean. I messed with absolutely nothing. Sometimes this truck drives me nuts. Maybe I have a tiny leak at the O2, I’m reusing the one that was in there, which is probably warped just a fuzz cuz I had to overtighen it to get a seal on the old front pipe. The surface was no longer flat;if you follow. I have a known good one, will change it out tomorrow. And buy a scanner. I want to see the trim. You would think if there was a leak there it would richen up.
