    I have a 2009 5lug 5speed 4cyl which i got for a steal.
Overall the truck is in decent shape and everything runs and works as it should.
Except for one thing the odometer has scrambled numbers and doesn't seem to be counting
the mileage at all. I checked fuses, reset, still nothing.
When i talked to the previous owner she told me her husband change the lights to HID lights
and i guess when that happen ,the problem occur. Can anything be done to fix this or do i need a new cluster? Im worried about the mileage not carrying over to the new cluster. Or maybe im missing something. Thanks in advanceResized_20190524_123101_29270512265653[1968].jpg
Thats how it looks . nothing changes

The electrical connections to LCDs (liquid crystal displays) are very fragile. I suspect that is your problem. It appears to me that your only option, if you want to fix it, is to replace the display. That might require replacing the whole cluster. I don't know whether the correct mileage will reappear in the new display. I would expect the number is stored in the computer. Maybe not.

Thanks for the answer. My biggest concern is not getting my original miles to show. Looks like I'll be on Ebay.
    Thanks

Pull the cluster apart, hopefully they did not tamper with the eeprom chip that stores the mileage. Its a federal offense and you could get in some big trouble.
Send some pictures of the circuit board, good quality close pics.
