    I will play devil's advocate though; I think it's significantly more pronounced than other vehicles I've driven with VVT. From my GTI with the EA888 Gen 3 to the 5.7 Hemi I had in my Ram; the 3.5 motor in my Tacoma is certainly more "spikey" to me too in its feel even if it doesn't appear that way on paper.
