I was curious and talked to one dealer last month and they said they don't want to do it ...

and IF they do it, they wanted the customer to sign a waiver for a transmission flush.

I kept getting the run around from the Service Director where I retired after 30 years. I watched maybe thirty YouTube videos and took my 2013 to a local shop specializing itself as a dealer alternative. They did a lower Preasure flush with BG synthetic and warranty it two years 24k miles. I plan to do the synthetic flush at 30k miles as my Tacoma has about 7 thousand in adaptive modifications for my Mobility Scooter and lift. The Rev up your engine guy says 30-40k miles. I think they sealed it to sell a reman transmission at 150k miles for 5-7 thousand exchanged. Or sell you a new car. I think the three to four year old cars that run ok are a better deal than hundreds of computers to fail.

Yes that’s correct. Under normal driving you’re good that long and beyond. Lots of folks waste time and money changing tranny fluids so often. I just traded in my 2nd gen with 225,000 miles on original tranny fluid, truck shifted like the day it was new. :crapstorm:

I feel like if you do the fluid exchange early enough, you would be mixing new fluid with still good fluid so it will continue to be good fluid. If you wait too long then yes, you're exchanging new fluid with poor fluid and you'll be leaving poor fluid in.

This is a good line of thought and is a common practice.

I did mine last night. I disconnected the out line from the radiator and put a clear tube on it the drained into a bucket. I flushed 3 gallons of valvoline full synthetic multi-vehicle atf. I have no idea how long the old fluid has been in there. It was black though. I kept pouring in as the old passed out. The method worked well. Was a little messy but I’m a bit of a klutz sometimes. All in all took me about 30 min.
