Dont forget to check state laws, as some states dont allow any tint to be applied to tail or headlights. If you have a yearly safety inspection, that might cause you some grief as well.

The way I see it is why give cops another reason to pull you over.

Yeah I was thinking if you get rear ended, or if I rear ended someone with them that dark I would sue the hell out of them, just me though. I'd be careful with that.

I don't know about the rest of the country but in Arizona you'll get pulled over for how dark those rear lamps are and be given a ticket. Then if you're in an accident, even if you're rear ended, be prepared to be held with the liability for the collision.

dude go outside on a nice sunny day put a brick on the brake pedal walk about 100' behind your truck. I you can clearly see brake lights your good if not its a problem turn on your hazard lights too just to see. I have a feeling those are too dark though.

you might not have to replace them. Remove the lights take some graffiti remover or paint remover to them then clean and polish.

I put 3 coats on my 2nd gens tails and then did the same to "Cmacks" and his came out a shit load darker than mine...it must be the composite of the plastic on 1st gens or something because I did nothing different to his and the came out twice as dark :notsure:

okay guys this is the corrected version of my tail lights. sry that its kind of dark but i just got home from work. i know its hard to see but now that i have corrected them you can actualy see the color of the lenses. ive lightened them up dramaticaly yet i was still able to keep them quite smokey!! now im safe to drive again. instead of the lossy look they had now its more of a flat or hazed look. i think i like this look even better.????
