I fact I did go back to the installer and say WTF. However, in the time since I’ve installed Morimoto HID’s and the installer blamed them. I can’t really fault the installer as I feel they really went above and beyond replacing the head unit for free 8 months after I bought it. I was expecting to have to pay for it.

I am attempting to look into it the static myself so pulled my head unit out. Should this wire be plugged into anything?

In addition, what is/where can I get the maestro update cable? The instructions said to plug in USB cable but it seems to be a custom one. I’m would like to try and turn off advanced camera control to see if I can fix the camera turning on.

@destin_meeks - I know you said Sony head units are junk so my question to you...alpine halo head unit? I really didn’t care for the pioneer interface so my next step would be to try a new head unit if the above doesn’t work.

    Thanks for any help!

The thing your arrow is pointing to is the factory XM antenna

As for the alpine, there is a big thread on the forums about it. Personally I haven’t experienced audio issues such as hiss with the sony’s. Just lots of system issues. There are LOTS of things than can cause hiss and engine noise and they’re pretty hard to track down

Also, the maestro update is a standard mini USB cable. You might have one laying around from an old camera

Thanks! It's the older mini-cables...I was trying to plug the micro USB into it and couldn't understand why it didn't fit.
