just got a 2006 TRD Sport 4x4. It has had the frame replaced within last year and has all new OEM shocks and springs and leafs.
Not really wanting to spend the money on a full new lift kit and discarding brand new OEM shocks and springs. So is there any way to gain any lift without doing so?

do it right.... 5100s in the front set at the 1.75in setting, and an AAL in the rear.... ideally you would also go with a slightly longer shock like a 5100 in the rear too.

What he said, stay away from spacers. I’ve been down that road. It causes more problems than its saves

Don't do a spacer lift, it will destroy parts.

^Good grief. Maybe all the horror stories of spacer lifts are true.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but it seems like most guys get spacer lifts just for the look. However, there is nothing worse than seeing a nice looking truck and looking at the suspension and seeing a hockey puck.

Look how the ball joint is almost worn in half, eventually it will bust in half and wont that be fun then. Yeah, spacer lift and this is what the dealership installs. What a joke.

    They are.

They’re avoidable issues, but nobody plans anything anymore. So..

Get a body lift kit, which puts spacers between the body and frame. I put several into my old Ford 4x4s. Might need to get a bumper kit too to align the bumper to the body.

Why not sell those brand new OEM shocks to recoup some of the money you spend towards a good lift kit? You get the lift, offset some cost, and the OEM shocks go to a good home.

I went with a Headstrong 3 leaf progressive AAL and 2in front spacer lift. It was all fairly inexpensive and I did all the work myself, excluding alignment.

I dont do any serious offroading and Im happy with the results so far.

But someday I would like to go full OME (Old Man Emu) all the way around.

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!
    2.5" lift w/35's
I blew my front shocks out in about 20k miles with a spacer lift

Edit: my rear shocks blew also, just forgot because they were way cheaper to replace lol

Do it right-er and pair a proper lift coil with those 5100's instead of inviting preload into your life.

Actually much prefer the extra preload on my TRD OR progressive coils at the 1.75in setting. Slightly stiffer than stock makes for a much more planted feeling of a ride.

They installed AAL when they swapped my frame. I have a lot of rake now.

Thinking 5100s @ .85 should do the trick without spending a ton of money and without having a huge lift. Or much preload.
