I’ve avoided the Tahoe area for years due to how busy it can be, but I’ll be driving to SLC via Ruby Mountains NV in a week and it’s going to be a bit of a hustle as I only have two days, and wondering what it’s like on the Nevada side this time of year. Pretty mellow? Any nice camp spots? Not too concerned about dispersed or developed for this one, just mellow and scenic. Any recs?

    Never camped there,
But always take the pup to Nevada beach camp ground.
Developed cg so there are others around, but sites have some space between them.

That looks nice. Is it walk in or can you drive up and set up at the sites?

I think I recall seeing vehicles near each site so I’m going to say drive up.
    Always wanted to stay there,
But unsure of the reservation vs. walk up situation.

At this time of year its still pretty cold, and sounds like they're still getting some snow. I'm sure if you call up the camp ground there would be some last minute cancellations.
