So sorry your Dad and his loved ones are having to go thru this.

Praying for best possible results and wisdom for all decisions that have to be made.

And regardless of the outcomes no second guessing or 'what ifs' on the part of the decision makers.

    Blessings to you and yours.

    Update..... I guess

So this man wrote a blank check to uncle sam years ago, swore to defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Yet here we are on memorial weekend, the hospital that almost killed him is flying their pow/mia flag and the stripes at half mast, yet want to kick him out with a referral to get a home health nurse, or be in a skilled nursing facility.
When asked for coverage we were told "you have to pay out of pocket, the VA denied coverage".
He was exhausted just tying his shoes, he has barely eaten in 6+ weeks, lost ALOT of weight and has no muscle tone. How TF is he supposed to do this? He cannot hold his hand out without it shaking, he has FULL BODY tremors. He remains at the hospital, as they are the best place at the moment for his safety, and they can keep tabs on his wbc, esp after recently removing some drains from him, we are a lil concerned about infection.

Thank you for the support here.

Wow, very sad story. Have you tried getting your Congressman or Senator involved? A friend of mine was getting the royal runaround from the VA on his Agent Orange claim, seemed like they were just hoping to wait him out. His Congressman got involved and things happened very fast, he wound up getting 100% disability retroactive to his initial filing date.

We don’t do enough for our vets!
One would think they would be taken care of for what they have given us already.

Couple other thoughts, is your Dad a member of the VFW? They have advocates who will work for members with the VA, the American Legion may as well. Also, most communities (usually at the county level) have a Veterans' Services office who can assist in dealing with the VA. My local Vets Services were very helpful when we were trying to unravel VA red tape for my late father.
