Poll , how many New 2016 or 17 Tacoma buyers still have them .

I my self have had 4 TSB's done , and did 2 fixes myself since new on my 2016 , and now am more than satisfied with my truck . It will be mine for many years to come .

 

2017 here...still got it and plan on keeping it til she blows.

 

My truck is fine, only been to the Dealer one time for getting my tires and wheels mounted and an alignment. I do however wish to get the updated TSB for Manuals one of these days.

 

I have a 2016 bought brand new March 1, 2016..... I hope to keep driving it til 2036!

 

Sold it. Bought a Ranger. I will revisit Tacoma next full redesign (If they update the drivetrain to where a 4 Banger can't outperform it and they have full implementation of Android Auto vs GPS Scout)

 

My 2016 lease is up in 60 days. Buying it out, and continuing on with more wheeling and camping trips.

Leased because I had doubts on the “new 3.5” worst case dealership would have to take it back. (If failures or unreliable)

45k miles later no issues. I did skip over that who auto shifting to much issue by buying a manual.

I did get the new engine software flashed though dealership TSB. No others that had any relevance to Powertrain or water tight integrity.

 

Very unscientific but so far as long as the "mine has been fine and why would this even be a poll " people still have their trucks choice still have them , 92.7 % of buyers are still owners . I know it is only 2 to 3 years of ownership , but this is not what I would call a bad release of a new vehicle . I thought hard about the potential for problems of buying a new release because I normally buy a proven model with all the bugs worked out . At first I thought I made a mistake but am very happy now and the problems were minor ,and mostly software.
I plan on keeping mine until gas is hard to get or insurance costs mandates self driving . This is even more confirmed by the Toyota's refusal to correct safety sense issues with modified trucks . Maybe the 2016-17 trucks will be highly desirable in the future ?

 

When I had enough cash to outright pay for a brand new truck and the 3rd gen just dropped and I could get it with a manual transmission, so it was literally perfect timing, and I love the quicksand color! So I knew that this would be the only new truck I would ever buy, all of the stars just aligned and it was perfect because I love this truck as much as my FJ40 and 80's pickups, and this truck is just as capable off-road as my oldies. I'm now at 120,000 miles and I absolutely could not be happier, my ONLY complaint is that they didn't offer the 16 as a F$#&ing Pro model, and that still pisses me off lol. I will keep my 2016 till the day I DIE.

 

I think you would be correct on this statement. For me personally I would only want a 16 or 17, less sensors so less problems. Easier to modify. I would say the 17 is the perfect year because you could get a pro model, so the pro 17's should be the most valuable for people who want to mod. IMO.

 

bought my ‘16. dec 30th ‘15. No complaints. Can’t see a reason to dump it. i’m too deep to jump ship for a little more power and don’t need a larger truck

I have a 2016 I bought last year. It now has only 16.5k on it, no issues what so ever. I do wish I had gotten 17 for the power rear slider...

51,000+ miles, zero issues, love it.

 

Bought my 2016 in October of 2015, 114k miles only repair so far was an inner axle seal which I did myself. Had the transmission TSB done at 90k and all is well.

 

Love mine, only had the rear diff recall, came out the day I bought it, and the blower motor fan or whatever. 24,200 miles and am perfectly happy with it. I do like new vehicles but will probably hold out two or three more years for the "all new" Tundra.

 

My guess is most of the folks who had problems and sold their truck to get something else are gone and won't be voting

 

Just hit my 3 year anniversary of my truck bough new in 16 have almost 50k on it and haven't had a single problem. Truck was lifted by the stealership when bought for warranties to stay in affect. Which I probably didn't need to do since I've had 0 issues with the truck. Great rig does what I need/want it to do.

 

I agree . Future liability for modifying and an accident ,is something I do not want to have to go to sleep and dream/ worry about in this sue happy world !
