Going to Steamboat on Vacation

Hi All - Wife and I are headed to Steamboat in a little over a week for a week. Curious if anyone had must see things while there. We are flying in and most likely won't be renting a car. Wife's uncle lives out there and I guess there's a pretty good shuttle around the area.

We are planning on doing some hiking (no definitive planned routes yet) and checking out the hot springs. We'll be wandering around the downtown area also. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

 

Strawberry Park. Go just before dark and schedule a couple's massage on-site. After dark it's clothing optional so.... when in Rome!

Taco Cabo is on the end of town and is AH-MAZING!

 

The Ore house is overrated and over priced...don’t go

Sometimes they have a steak sandwich that is amazing. It’s not sliced, it’s a piece of steak on a bun!

I don’t see it currently on the menu though . Good place to eat!

 

Wild West hot air balloon trip! Bud is the owner and personally flies you around. He and his wife Shelly are incredible hosts and the views from up there are incredible.

There's a lot of snow still in the mountains here, not many options available for hiking this time of year.

 

Ya the only real hike you can down around town you can do right now is emerald mountain and there is still a good chance you will run into snow.

Second the Stawberry Park hot springs. Great place!

 

Yeah, the hot springs were great. We ended up hiking up from Mad Creek to the springs and then spent some time soaking and hiked back.
